This award of AUD 1000, sponsored by the generosity of KB Enterprises (Aust) Pty Ltd, Australia, recognises school library programs or projects that effectively utilise current and emerging technologies for school libraries and information service delivery.

The nominee will be an outstanding school librarian or a school library team. The individual or a member of the school library team must be a member of IASL. Self nomination is encouraged.

Selection is made by the IASL Awards Committee.

Criteria for Projects

Criteria for selection will focus on:

  • Significance of achievement in relation to improved student learning.
  • Evidence of commitment on the individual or school library team to the ongoing delivery of the program or project.
  • Diversity of information/resources for users to support student learning.

Applications/Nominations

The nomination must include:

  • Detailed information about the school library program or project, including the purpose, a brief description, the target audience, value to the school community and web links.
  • Two supporting documents from users indicating how the school library program or project improved student learning.
  • Two letters of support from colleagues indicating the overall context of the achievement in terms of providing access to information/resources to support student learning.

  • 2007 The Scotch College, Australia -- The Scotch College Senior Library homepage provides a portal that links users to valuable information and resources that enhance student learning and supports the curriculum. This portal is not only accessed by the learners within the college but international visitors as well. The site is an example of innovative use in collecting, organising and disseminating value-added information within and beyond the school community. It provides a free flow of information and ideas, and promotes the school library services.
