🌍 Narratives Uniting Nations: International Storytelling Exchange Project - 2024 🌍

Welcome to the International Storytelling Exchange Project 2024, an exciting initiative that offers schools around the world the opportunity to connect through virtual storytelling sessions. This project brings together master storytellers, educators, and librarians to share their country's native tales with audiences across the globe. Imagine listening to captivating stories and folktales from diverse cultures, transcending borders and fostering a global community of learners. 📚✨

🌟 Project Overview 🌟

This project allows schools to organize storytelling sessions where students can immerse themselves in the rich tapestry of global narratives. As part of this exchange program, facilitators from both partner schools will ensure that storytelling sessions occur from both sides, enabling a true exchange of cultural knowledge during International School Library Month.

🛠️ How It Works 🛠️

  1. Flexible Scheduling:

    • Participants can schedule storytelling sessions at dates and times that suit their respective time zones. 📅

  2. Virtual Platforms:

    • Ensure all students can connect via Skype, Zoom, or MS Teams, whether from home or school. 💻

  3. Partner Coordination:

    • Librarians or teachers should reach out to a participating school from the provided list, considering time zone feasibility. Note that ISLM will not arrange these matches. Instructors will coordinate session times, discuss topics in advance, and prepare all necessary materials for a successful exchange. 🌐

📅 Important Dates 📅

  • Registration Deadline: The closing date for registering for the 2024 International Storytelling Exchange Project is October 26, 2024.

  • Session Dates: Storytelling sessions should be held during October 2024.

📋 Participation Guidelines 📋

  1. Register Online:

  2. Install Virtual Platforms:

    • Participants should install Skype, Zoom, or MS Teams as indicated in the registration form, and set up an account. 📲

  3. Technical Preparation:

    • Arrange a test call via the selected virtual platform with the partner school a day before the scheduled session to avoid any technical issues. ⚙️

  4. Capture the Moment:

    • Take screenshots during the actual session and submit them for inclusion on the “What Others Are Doing for ISLM” webpage. 📸

  5. Certification:

    • After completing the project, download e-certificates for your school, students, and yourself. These will be available on the webpage around November-December. Check the website or contact the project coordinator for more details. 🎓
