Email Gigglecritter says “Hi!” and invites you to take part in our 2011 GiggleIT competitions -
Through our window – the colours of our land.
The Gigglecritters belong to the children of the world and want to visit every school, city, and country. You can help Email Gigglecritter fly in through your window to your special world with the new GiggleIT Project competitions for 2011. What are the colours of your world? What can you see through your window? How do you feel when you look through your window?
There are 4 competitions in this project
Name Our Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs in your culture - class, collaborative project
Design your personal logo - individual project
Write a haiku poem - individual project
Create a travel poster - individual project
Each class registered in GiggleIT Projects can submit one class entry in the Our Snow White competition. The other three competitions are open to each student whose class is registered. Each student can enter one of those 3 competitions or all 3 – free! All the instructions and teaching resources are free to your teacher, too.
Ask your teacher to join the GiggleIT Project now, so your entries can be e-mailed by November 1, 2011 to giggle_it@live.com.au
A classic story retold. A fun, collaborative class project. This competition is for the whole class to do together.
What if Snow White lived in your town? Think about the tale of SnowWhite and the Seven Dwarfs: If Snow White lived in your town, region, or country, what would she be called? What names would you give to each of the seven dwarfs to reflect your culture? (No living persons, celebrities, sport stars, etc. may be used)
Look at the example on the Voicethread slides 22 - 25: http://voicethread.com/#q.b1579402.i8342223
Now think about your world.
Each class registered in GiggleIT Projects can submit one entry in the Our Snow White competition, so your class needs to work together to decide which names reflect your culture best. Be sure to explain how each name relates to your culture!
You have the option to continue on to rewrite the Snow White story in your own culture and we would love to read it and publish it on the website however only your concept of the characters will be judged.
Select your class entry and submit your Snow White characters by November 1, 2011 to giggle_it@live.com.au.
