Invitation

Welcome to the GiggleIT Project which invites your students to share their original writing with other kids around the world with your library as creative center.

Kids of all ages enjoy funny stories, poems and jokes, so GiggleIT allows your students to promote cross-cultural understandings by publishing their works which reflect your region while explaining culturally-specific terms for children and young adults around the world.

GiggleIT is designed for children from ages 10–14 and can be easily adapted for younger gifted students, English Language Learners of any age, and special needs classes. Students may write individually, in pairs, or in groups. The elected language for the GiggleIT Project is English, and bilingual/multilingual works are welcome.

Each registered school and class will have a dedicated page on the GiggleIT site where their work is hosted at no cost, so that it may be read by anyone anywhere with internet access. Your students will select GiggleCritter mascots for their class page, and also write an introduction to your country, state, town, and school – kids love to find out what life is like in other places!

All GiggleIT Project resources, lesson plans, spotlight project ideas, and school/class pages are free to registered schools, libraries, and youth groups. Go to outcomes to see what your students will learn from the project.

The GiggleIT Project is an initiative of the Children’s and Young Adult Literature Special Interest Group of the International Association of School Librarianship (IASL). IASL is an international organization which promotes and actively supports school libraries and libraries around the world.

The GiggleIT Project is a partner with the International Children's Digital Library
