Bookmarks may be:
hand-drawn;
painted;
collaged;
created using mixed media;
made using recycled materials;
digitally designed and printed; or
produced using other suitable creative techniques.
Students may work individually or as part of a class/library activity.
Bookmarks may reflect books, reading, libraries, imagination, culture, friendship, the ISLM theme, or other ideas appropriate to the project.
The exchange may extend beyond the physical bookmark.
Partner schools may share:
local history;
traditions;
cultural practices;
books and authors;
school-library experiences;
student messages; or
other aspects of their communities.
Schools are encouraged to document their participation through photographs, screenshots, short descriptions, student reflections, or other appropriate records.
Selected activities may be featured through ISLM's “What People Are Doing for ISLM” initiative and other ISLM/IASL communication channels.
Schools must follow their own safeguarding, privacy, and image-consent requirements before submitting photographs or student information.
