Digital Bookmark Exchange Project 2026

Message from the ISLM Chairperson, Raman Deep

Dear Educators, Librarians, School Coordinators, and Young Readers,

The Digital Bookmark Exchange Project is an exciting extension of the traditional Bookmark Exchange Project, bringing together the joy of reading, creativity, technology, and international friendship.

By embracing digital tools, this initiative gives students an opportunity to express their creativity in new ways while connecting with peers from schools around the world. It is especially valuable for schools where traditional postal exchanges may be difficult because of distance, cost, or postal limitations.

A digital bookmark is more than a creative design—it is a small expression of imagination, culture, and the love of reading shared across borders. Through this project, students can explore digital design while experiencing the excitement of connecting with another school and another part of the world.

I encourage schools, librarians, teachers, and students to participate enthusiastically, experiment with digital creativity, and make this exchange a meaningful part of their International School Library Month (ISLM) 2026 celebrations.

Together, let us use our libraries as spaces for creativity, innovation, connection, and global learning.

Thank you for your continued support of ISLM and for helping us create opportunities that connect young readers across the world.

With warm regards,
Raman Deep
Chairperson, International School Library Month (ISLM)
